THE Sabah Fire and Rescue Department has activated a search and rescue (SAR) operation for an 18-month-old girl who is believed to have wandered into the woods and fallen into a river near Kampung Batu 66 in Beaufort, this morning.

In a statement today, the department said it was alerted to the incident at 11.19am.

“During the incident, the victim’s parents were trading at Tamu Beaufort and the toddler was being taken care of by her grandmother.”
